The band are pleased to announce that it has been successful in obtaining a grant from Banks Community Fund to purchase new instruments and equipment.
The Banks Community Fund was established in 1997 to provide support to community groups, voluntary organisations and environmental projects that are charitable, educational, philanthropic or benevolent in purpose.
A band spokesman said “This is a real boost the band, with it we have been able to purchase 5 new instruments, a drum kit, music stands and a whole host of percussion instruments. Just as important is the recognition this gives that the band is moving in the right direction in establishing itself in the area. We are grateful to the Penny Hill Wind Farm Community Fund (the local body that overseas the wider Banks Community Fund) for their support”.
A concert to thank the fund will be held in 2016.
