Musical Director

The band’s musical director is Terry Clifford, a well- respected  brass band conductor of over 35 years experience.

Terry combines his music career with that of a school teacher and has conducted his school band for over 35 years as well. The band started as a wind band before changing to a Jazz band.

Terry is also an accomplished music teacher preparing students for ABRSM exams.

He learnt to play the euphonium at school and the trombone a few years later.

His first band was  the Carlton Silver Band from Nottingham in the 1970’s. When Terry moved to Yorkshire he played with the Brodsworth Colliery Band before starting his full time conducting career with the Rossington Colliery Band.

Terry is also Musical Director of Maltby Miners Welfare Band and has led them to considerable success since his appointment in 1984, including an appearance at the National Brass Band Championships.
